Back Flux for Pulsed Laser Evaporation into Vacuum
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper proposes results on calculation of the back flux for the case of pulsed laser evaporation into vacuum. On the basis of the direct Monte Carlo simulation, one-dimensional plane expansion of vapor cloud was calculated for a wide range of the number of evaporated monolayers. A substantial back flux rise is observed if the rotational degrees of freedom are taken into account. Influence of relaxation collision number on the back flux is demonstrated. Computations that combine the laser-induced target heating calculation and the direct Monte Carlo simulation of vapor cloud expansion show an insignificant effect of the time evolution of the surface temperature on the back flux.

Preventing kinetic roughening in physical vapor-phase-deposited films.
The growth kinetics of the mostly used physical vapor-phase deposition techniques -molecular beam epitaxy, sputtering, flash evaporation, and pulsed laser deposition-is investigated by rate equations with the aim of testing their suitability for the preparation of ultraflat ultrathin films. The techniques are studied in regard to the roughness and morphology during early stages of growth. We de...

R-134a sprays have been widely used as a method to protect the epidermis during laser therapies of hyper-vascular lesions, such as port wine stains, due to their high heat flux and precise control of cooling duration. Recent studies have shown that the use of vacuum cups during laser treatment can physically dilate the vasculature of interest and improve therapeutic outcome. However, the effect...

This work investigates phase change phenomena due to high power pulsed laser irradiation. During high power laser heating, the intense radiation flux from the laser is transformed to the target material and raises the temperature of the target surface rapidly. When the laser fluence is high enough, melting and superheating of liquid are possible. At even higher laser fluences, the superheated l...

In this paper, we report the experimental results of a pulsed flash lamped Nd:YAG laser at wavelength of 1064 nm and Qswitched by Cr4+:YAG solid state saturable absorber. We have obtained the output energy (E) and pulse-width ( p τ ) of this laser for various initial transmissions of this saturable absorber. Furthermore, the effect of reflectivity of the output coupler (R), diameter of the rod ...
